Clubs
To play in any organised competition in Victoria, a person needs to be a registered member of one of the clubs or associations officially affiliated with Table Tennis Victoria (TTV). There are approximately 60 clubs in Victoria, but unfortunately not every region, suburb, or town has one — that’s where Albert Park Table Tennis (APTT) comes in.
APTT is not a traditional club based at a single venue; rather, it acts as a virtual association covering the gaps. Our members include referees, umpires, and coaches who operate across Victoria, players from university clubs not formally part of the official structure, social groups entering teams together, and even high-performance athletes seeking competition beyond local levels.
University clubs often face challenges maintaining a stable governance structure, forming and reforming over time due to student turnover. Direct affiliation with a state sporting body has often proved difficult long-term. APTT recognises these realities and provides a stable, incorporated association framework that university clubs can rely on for constitutions, governance, and other formal requirements. This support allows university club committees to focus on growing their membership and participation without the burden of administrative compliance.
APTT maintains a strong partnership with Table Tennis Victoria and has taken over running the TTV Premier League. Members can also order an official APTT club shirt to wear during competitions.
Players registering through APTT can compete under their university or social group banner and participate in a range of competitions and leagues across Victoria, including the Premier League hosted at MSAC, which caters to all skill levels.

Melbourne Lakeside is very happy to welcome any player who is interested in playing in our table tennis competition. There are no age or ability limits, but players do need to commit for a whole season (10 weeks + finals). Single players will be allocated to a grade and a 2- or 3-person team according to their ability. We are happy if you have 2 or 3 people wanting to play together in one team.
